Beginning in January 2024, we are hosting our 5th Cybersecurity Academy for high school students, aiming to prepare the next generation of professionals for a world where security and technology are at the forefront. We're partnering with local businesses and colleges, ensuring that our students acquire the skills desired by future employers. Why Volunteer with Us? 1. Bridge the Skills Gap: Our future workforce is facing a significant lack of trained professionals, and we need industry experts like you to help fill the gap. 2. Invest in Your Future Employees: As a business partner, you have a stake in our graduates. By volunteering, you're shaping the minds and skills of your potential future employees. 3. New Focus on Roles: Last year, we're shifted our focus from topics to roles, providing you with hands-on learning labs to facilitate. It's an exciting change that promises a more engaging and practical learning experience. What Do You Need to Do? Commit to Share Your Expertise: Volunteer instructors are asked to commit to at least 1 lesson of their choice (total time investment is 4 hours). When and Where: Classes are held in the new Cybersecurity Lab at ISU on: - Wednesday evenings: 6:30pm-8:30pm - Saturday mornings: 9am-11am Each class will host 30 students, and a classroom teacher will be available to assist during class.
